The Kerala High Court on Tuesday ordered actor Dulquer Salmaan to approach the judging authority under the Customs Act, 1962, to ask for the preliminary release of his Defender from Land Rover. The vehicle was seized by customs officials as part of ‘Operation Numkhor’. The court instructed the customs division to make a decision within one week of receiving Dulquer’s application for the release of the vehicle. The luxury SUV was arrested following an attack on Dulquer’s Residence, conducted under Operation Numkhor – a suppression aimed at individuals suspected of tax evasion and illegal imports of Bhutan vehicles with forged registrations. “It is good for the filer to approach the judging authority, the additional commissioner of customs, Kochi. In such circumstances, it is ordered that if the requester submits an application in terms of section 110a, the same will be considered by the competent authority and appropriate orders that are at a period of the date of the date of the date of the tackle.” The court added: “It is further clear that the preliminary release is a preliminary release under normal circumstances. In case his application is rejected, the same can only be done by a spoken order with reference to the manufactured documents and the protests raised.” What happened to Dulquer Salmaan’s car? Recently, customs officials did raids at various places across Kerala, including the homes of actors Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. During the operation, the authorities seized more than 35 luxury vehicles that were presumably imported from Bhutan by fraudulent channels. Below the batter on vehicles was Salmaan’s 2004 Land Rover defender. On September 25, Salmaan submitted a representation to the Customs Authority and provided all necessary documents to support his case. However, his request for the release of the vehicle was rejected, which led him to approach the Supreme Court for relief. Meanwhile, Dulquer is ready for his upcoming Tamil on the professional front – Telugu -Tevilable Film ‘Kaantha’. A teaser for the project, centered on the tense relationship between a father and son, was unveiled on the 42nd birthday of the actor.
