New -Delhi, September 18 (IANS). Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav discussed the upcoming AI summit at the press conference on Thursday and the progress in the technological sector in India. He informed India that in February 2026, India will become a witness to a historic event when the impact AI summit led by Premier Narendra Modi will be arranged. Earlier, this important conference was held in countries such as Britain, Korea and France. Now India will host this opportunity, which will participate in governments and experts around the world. The minister said that the logo of the Impact AI summit was launched today and that the theme was presented. Its purpose is to make human -oriented development, inclusive growth and technology really accessible to everyone. He said that an important aspect of the conference would be to create a management framework that is relevant in most parts of the world and can benefit everyone. Examples he said that India has always developed techniques that are useful worldwide. UPI is the biggest example of this, which is recognized worldwide and which can all of developed countries to develop to developing countries. Similarly, India wants AI to become inclusive, universal and transformative. For this, India has adopted a balanced approach. Some teams work on a large-scale AI model, while many teams develop small and field-specific models. This approach is based on practical and problems. Ashwini Vaishnav said Premier Modi gave clear instructions that the effect of technology should be seen in the lives of ordinary citizens. AI must be useful, not only for large businesses, but also to improve access to small farmers, people living in rural areas and health services. Vaishnav further said that the mission of India is to provide large computer facilities for students, researchers and startups. Today, 38,000 GPUs are already working in the country, but that’s not enough. In the coming time, demand will increase rapidly, so it is necessary to continuously increase capacity. He said that the Iit Bombay team recently was working on a indigenous model that would be up to 1 trillion parameters, while the largest model was ever about 120 billion parameters. This level of projects will require heavy resources, so adding an extra 10,000 GPUs is mandatory. The minister said it is also encouraging that facilities are not limited to traditional centers such as Bengaluru or Pune, but that they are spread to small cities and towns. According to the attitude of the prime minister, it is a democratization of technology, so that students and innovators of small cities can also get equal opportunities. The government intends to set up more than 500 data centers across the country. He also informed that by changing the strategy, not only worked on large models, but also on domain special AI models. For example, models focused on healthcare and material sciences are promoted, which will lead to speed towards self -sufficient India. Eventually, the minister said India is moving rapidly in the production of semiconductor, AI and electronics. DPP rules will also be published in the coming days, which will be another important step in this direction. -Ians Pim/DSC
