The law must do its work in any democracy: Mamta Banerjee
Kolkata, October 6 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the attack on BJP MP Khagan Murmu and Mla Shankar Ghosh, who are serving people affected by floods and landslides in the Western Bengals. He said this reflects the insensitivity of the Trinamole Congress and the Pathetic Law and Order of the State. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee responded to this. Western -Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee posted on the social media platform ‘X’, saying that it is unhappy and extremely worrying that the Prime Minister of India has decided to politicize a natural disaster without waiting for a proper investigation, especially if the people of Northern Bengal struggle with the situation of destructive floods and root lights. He said that when the entire local administration and police were engaged in relief and rescue operations, BJP leaders decided to go to the areas concerned with a large convoy of cars under the protection of the central forces and also without notice to the local police and administration. How can the State Administration, the Local Police or the Trinamol Congress be convicted of this incident? CM Mamta further said that the Prime Minister had directly convicted the Trinamole Congress and the Western Bengal Government without any authenticated evidence, legal investigation or administrative report. It is not just a political collapse, but a violation of the constitutional values that the prime minister has taken to protect. In any democracy, the law must do its job, and only the appropriate process can the conviction determine a tweet made on any political platform. He said the incident occurred in the constituency where the public himself chose a BJP MLA. Nevertheless, the Prime Minister sees no contradiction in the reflection of the so -called ‘strength’ of TMC. Such widespread, unfounded generalizations are not only immature, but are also immoral to the country’s highest position. On behalf of a prime minister, who visited Manipur just 964 days after being hit by ethnic violence, it seems that a sudden concern for Bengal is less sympathetic and opportunistic political drama. The chief minister further said that yes, we all condemn clear violence, but it is not a time to praise. It’s time to help and heal wounds. It is also clear that the BJP uses the worn-out extended plot of South Bengals in the hope of polarizing people before the election. Make it clear that Bengal is an emotional, cultural and political one. He said I requested the prime minister to listen to the elected state government, not just his party colleagues. You are the Prime Minister of India, not just BJP. Your responsibility is in nation -building, not in narrative. Let us not deepen the differences in this delicate hour. Come, rise above the party line and unite and serve those we need. Come, let politics for another day. -Ians DKP/
