Madhya Pradesh police have arrested a man accused of doing sexual activities on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway after an alleged video of him went with a woman on social media viral, officials said on Sunday. The video, which provoked widespread outrage, was allegedly of a man attached to the BJP. However, the party rejected the allegations. Mandasur SP Abhishek Anand confirmed the arrest of the man. “A video became viral on May 13, and a fir was submitted to Thana Bhanpura. Today, the accused was arrested and questioned, ‘he quoted by the news agency Pti. Anand further said that an investigation is underway and that strict action will be taken against all involved. “Further investigation is underway, and strict steps will be taken against everyone involved in this case.” According to police, the incident occurred earlier about 200 kilometers from Indore near Mandsaur Town. It was allegedly made on May 13. Earlier, Mandsaur Dig Manoj Kumar Singh provided details about the incident. ‘In the investigation, it appears that the location in the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Bhanpura is a public place. Police have a case against Manohar Dhakad and another person in terms of Articles 296 (obscene act in public places), 285 (obstacle of the public way) and 3 (5) of BNs, “he said. While police did not mention the accused on Sunday, he was previously identified as Manoharlal Dhakad, the national secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha registered in Ujjain. The Mahasabha issued a statement saying it fired him from the post. Dhakad’s wife is a BJP-backed District Panchayat member and currently represents ward no. 8 of Mandsaur District Panchayat. “Dhakad comes from the town of Bani, but he is not a primary member of the BJP. His wife Sohan Bai is a member of the Panchayat district. It is not known whether Manoharlal has become a member of the party,” said Pti, Mandsaur BJP district president. The white car seen in the video, according to the records of the Department of Transport, is registered in the name Manoharlal Dhakad.
