The Ministry of Social Affairs provides assistance to heirs from the victims of the collapse of the Al-Khoziny Islamic boarding school
Jakarta -Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) attended the Grand Tahlil activity and presented compensation to 17 heirs from the victims of the Al -Khoziny Islamic Residence Prayer. The remuneration assistance offered is in the form of cash worth IDR 15,000,000 for each heir of the deceased, basic food packages and nutritional packages. “What we give is what was judged, perhaps 17 families were judged from today. We will follow up for other families later,” he said. Gus Ipul emphasized that the central government, provincial government, city government and regency government fully support the handling of victims from start to finish. “From evacuation, then the emergency period, and eventually the rehabilitation and reconstruction period,” he said. The first support is protection and social security for families whose family members die or have been seriously injured. Furthermore, medical and social rehabilitation support is also provided. Apart from the provision of compensation, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides empowerment and psychosocial assistance to the families of the victims. Empowerment is performed by providing business capital assistance and skills training according to the potential of each family. To ensure appropriate support, the Ministry of Social Affairs conducted an assessment of the family of each victim to determine their specific needs. “For example, there are those who want to open a store or store. Later we will judge them first, we will train them and we will offer business capital,” Gus Ipul added. This effort is a stage of rehabilitation and social reconstruction, so that the victim’s family not only restores economically, but also psychologically and socially. Psychosocial assistance is provided by social workers from the Ministry of Social Affairs to help the victims’ families recover from trauma and are empowered to live their lives again. Previously, Gus Ipul also visited Syhendra Haikal Aditya and Syaifur Rosi Abdillah, students who were victims of the collapse of the Al-Khoziny Islamic Residence Building whose legs had to be amputated. Furthermore, for victims experiencing disabilities, the Ministry of Social Affairs works with the National Commission on Disabilities to provide assistance and assistance with aids as needed, such as prosthetic bones or weapons, wheelchairs and sticks. “But after that, what matters is how we can make our students enthusiastic again.
