Jakarta – The Ministry of Transmigration has opened a new chapter with plans to work with international universities, including Ehime University Japan. Later, the campus will be invited to develop the transmigration area into a new center of economic growth. Transmigration Minister M. IFTITAH Sulaiman Suryanagara said trilateral meetings with IPB University will take place in the 2025 Expo series in Osaka. “We need foreign researchers to provide a new perspective. This collaboration contains the dual grade and S2 programs, Indonesian and Japanese students, will be deployed directly to the field. This is to offer solutions and innovations in transmigration development, including joint research. Previously, the Ministry of Transmigration 2000 sent academics from the seven of the best universities in Indonesia, along with 17 universities in the regions, after 154 transmigration areas through the Patriot Expedition program. They are researching and mapping economic potential to design transmigration areas as a new growth center. “Today’s transmigration is not just moving the population. It is a long -term investment, the investment of science, investment in civilization,” Iftitah said. This research collaboration does not stop in Japan. The Ministry of Transmigration has also opened a collaborative door with universities in Germany, Singapore and other countries. “Hopefully transmigration will become a world laboratory to push superior human resources while building up a new economic center that makes people prosperous,” he concluded.
