Beijing, May 22 (IANS). May 22 is the International Biodiversity Day. This year is the theme of this day ‘harmony and sustainable development with nature’. According to the news of the Chinese National Forestry and Passenger Administration, the population of rare and endangered wildlife and flora in China is constantly increasing, the housing and reproductive environment are constantly improving and significant results have been achieved in the conservation of biodiversity in the country. According to the data, more than 200 rare and endangered wild species are currently entering the recovery and development phase in China and more than 100 endangered wild flora received emergency protection. In the year 2024, the latest results of the national synchronized monitoring of water feeders indicate that the total number of winter water fields in the country has reached 5 Lakh 59 thousand, which has so far been the highest record for national monitoring. At the same time, the biodiversity of the Sanchyangayan National Park in the province of Chinghai remains rich, where the number of Tibetan deer increased from 20,000 to more than 70,000 in the early 1980s. Siberian tigers and leopards established in Chilin and Heilongachyang in northeastern China initially set up the Akash-Land Integrated Full Cover Monitoring System, where there are more than 70 wild Siberian tigers and more than 80 wild Siberian leopards. It is reported that China will further improve the conservation system with botanical gardens, germplasm resources, rescue and reproductive bases in wildlife, set up new national botanical gardens in a systematic way, strengthen many important animals’ national protection and research centers.
