The question of solution to the problems of farmers in Amritsar has submitted Dallewal Memorandum
Amritsar, October 15 (IANS). Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) chief Jagh Dallewal on Wednesday presented a handwritten claim letter to the administration at the district headquarters and claimed the immediate solution of the pending and burning problems of the Boers. The delegation led by Dallewal said that farmers suffered huge losses as a result of the recent flooding in Punjab and other countries, in such a situation, the central and state governments should increase the relief amount and release it effectively. The letter of claim states that a relief of at least Rs 1 lakh per field must be given to the affected farmers. At the same time, a claim was made to give a separate remuneration of Rs 25 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives, Rs 10 Lakh for removing debris, and Rs 1 lakh per pit or fort for repairing the country damaged by filling it with soil. A remuneration of Rs 1 lakh has also been proposed for the loss of animals. Dallewal raised serious questions about the irregularities in the procurement system that in many Mandis is manipulation in weighing and measurement of products, whereby farmers cannot get a fair price for their products. He claimed that some traders and commission agents take illegal profits by buying private coins privately and later showing in the government account. He immediately investigated such activities and strict action against the culprits. On the issue of stubble burning, Dallewal said that farmers were burning from coercion due to a very short time between harvest and sowing. Governments should offer options and incentives instead of rigor on farmers. He also said that the cases registered against farmers related to stubble burning should be withdrawn because the Supreme Court also assumed that farming was not the leading cause of pollution. The actual data must be offered in court. In the letter of question, protest march was also filed against irregularities in the supply of DAP fertilizer. Farmers said fertilizers should be provided to them according to their requirement and actions should be done against irregular distribution. Apart from this, it has also been stated that the fees of sugarcane farmers are paid, the issuance of the notice of Rs 450 per quintal tariff and the timely operationalization of sugar factories. Dallewal warned that if the government did not act on these claims immediately, it would be forced to announce the next phase of the excitement. He urged the administration and state government to judge the real situation and ensure justice and relief for the Boers. -—Is Ash/ABM Share This Story Tags
