Jakarta -The area around the Cikande industrial area, Serang Regency, is infected with radioactive cesium -137. Now the area is officially closed. The closure was seen directly by the Minister of the Environment (LH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq. He also asked residents not to enter the limited area. Hanif was accompanied by the Superce Energy Supervisory Agency (Bapeten) on Tuesday (7/10/2025). He visited the area exposed to radiation on the former country where the iron was stored. Browse to continue with the contents of Hanif and its entourage wore masks during the visit to the location. Meanwhile, Gaana officers who installed the perimeter wear protective clothing. “This is the last point discovered yesterday afternoon, yes. So, this morning, it is localized this morning. What happens next, and so on, we will see how it develops,” Hanif says. Hanif said that there were 1,000 microsity suspension per hour in the central area, or the same as 1 millisiber per hour. “We are only allowed 10 millisivers per year, while it is currently 1 millisiber per hour, so it is clearly not allowed because it can harm our health,” he said. Radiation tracking equipment has the government installed a radiation tracking device from radioactive cesium-137 in the modern industrial area Cikande. Trucks and other vehicles leaving the Cikande area should be free of radiation. Trucks declared are allowed to continue their journey. Meanwhile, trucks that are still being traced as exposed to radiation will be moved to a special place for the disinfection process. Hanif said this inspection process is compulsory for all vehicles leaving the industrial area. Officers will be on his guard for 24 hours. “This is our one gate, so everyone who leaves the Cikande modern industrial area must pass the inspection of the one gate set up. According to Hanif, there are currently five vehicles undergoing the disinfection process. “The last five have been undergoing there,” he said. This inspection was conducted to ensure that no trucks are exposed to radiation that has left the modern industrial area of Cikande. “So it is done to ensure that all trucks should not contain Cesium,” he said. There are 32 radiation points. KLH revealed that there are currently 32 radiation points of radioactive Cesium-137 in the modern industrial area Cikande. A total of 10 points are outside industrial areas, while 22 are other points in industrial areas. “There are 10 points like this (country), of which 22 in the industry, in generators, in storage, such things,” Hanif said when checking the location in Cikande. According to Hanif, there are currently five points in the industrial area that are disinfecting by teams of KLH, Ggedan and Bapeten. He hopes the process will be completed soon. “It’s been handled for the past five days, so how much is left, we ask for it to be done immediately,” he said. Hanif added that there were also five vehicles that were disinfecting. This process is performed to ensure that no trucks are exposed to radiation that leaves the modern industrial area of Cikande. “The last five are still disinfected,” he said. “So it is done to ensure that all trucks should not contain Cesium,” he continued. Hanif said it would take several months to neutralize the entire area of radiation. Therefore, his party will create barriers so that no one is exposed to radiation. “My projection is that it will be completed in a few months, so strict restrictions are needed,” he said. Will locate residents ‘homes Hanif Faisol, said the government would localize residents’ homes affected by Cesium-137 radioactive radiation in the modern industrial area of Cikande. He said there are only a few homes that are believed to have been exposed to radiation. “Later, based on the zoning results of Bapeten and Brin’s friends, there were only a few houses, so there were not many. It happened that there was a glow,” Hanif said. “What is important is that we localize those who are nearby,” he said. Hanif emphasized that not all homes in settlements around the modern industrial area Cikande would be evacuated. “Only a few houses had to be evacuated,” he said. Currently, the Ministry of Environment, Bapeten and Brin, map the infected areas and need to be localized. His party will also determine which areas are included in the red zone and others. “So there will be a plan from Brin and Bapeten’s recommendation that we should localize the community, move them first until the disinfection is complete,” Hanif said. The Ministry of Environment will also talk to various parties, including regional governments, to decide on this policy. Hanif said the mapping is also aimed at limiting the movement of residents on points exposed to radiation. “It therefore requires discussions with the Minister of Social Affairs, Minister of Manpower, PMK, then TNI Polri, Governors and Regents to perform very limited activities,” he said. “So we will limit people’s movements on points questioned,” he continued.
