The Rainmaker Season 2 Renewed By USA Network For 2026 Release

The Rainmaker season 2’s fate has been confirmed on the USA Network. The legal drama is based on John Grisham’s 1995 novel of the same name, which was previously adapted into the 1997 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Matt Damon and Danny DeVito. The new TV series premiered on August 15 and aired its season 1 finale on October 17.

Now, less than a week after the season 1 finale, The Rainmaker has been renewed for season 2 on the USA Networkaccording to Variety. It will air in 2026. Val Boreland, the President of Entertainment at Versant, shared the following statement:

The verdict is in — The Rainmaker is returning for season two on USA Network. Along with our brilliant showrunner Michael Seitzman and our partners at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, we’re thrilled to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama for our viewers.

Developed by Michael Seitzman and Jason Richman, USA’s The Rainmaker follows a talented young lawyer who loses his job at a high-profile white-collar firm and joins a small scrappy legal team, which includes a streetwise ambulance chaser and her morally flexible paralegal, and quickly ends up in court against his former employer when he takes on a wrongful death case involving an African American man who died under hospital care.

The Rainmaker cast includes Milo Callaghan, Lana Parrilla, Madison Iseman, PJ Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street), Dan Fogler (Fantastic Beasts), Wade Briggs, Robyn Cara, and four-time Emmy nominee John Slattery (Mad Men).

The Rainmaker season 1 has received mixed reviews from critics for trading the novel’s unique appeal for a more formulaic courtroom story, resulting in a 50% score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the show has been quite popular among audiences, with the first nine episodes averaging 1.3 million viewers across all platformsfor the USA. The Rainmaker season 1 also holds an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
