Jakarta – As many as 32 climbers have been evacuated due to hypothermia to suffer from stomach acid during the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in Mount Bawakaraeng, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi). Most victims suffered hypothermia and others suffered from stomach acid, and several people were separated from the group,” the head of the Makassar Basarnas operational division Andi Sultan said in his statement, Sunday (8/17/2025). The victim was pronounced dead on the way off while the team vacated. “The victim was pronounced dead by South Sulawesi Regional Police Docpol team that joined the evacuation team,” Sultan explained. The Sultan said Irfan is a participant in cross -nature activities who traveled from Bulu Bulia to Mount Bawakaraeng. The victim along with 16 colleagues began their journey on August 12, 2025 and arrived at the top of Mount Bawakaraeng on August 16. “But on Sunday morning it was found in a hypothermia state by the Red and White Alert team.
