The Saudi defense minister on Wednesday signed a contract with the company “Airbus Devines & Space” to purchase 4 aircraft with a multi -tax fuel “Airbus A330 MRTT” to improve the operational capabilities of the Saudi General Air Force, according to a statement from the Saudi Press agency “SPA”. He explained that today’s agreement is the third for his business with the Saudi defense ministry over the past few years. Earlier this year, the Public Authority for Military Industries signed an industrial participation agreement with ‘Airbus Devines & Space’ to locate the multi -charm fuel aircraft and its systems to reach the targets of Vision 2030 by locating more than 50% of spending on military equipment and services. The agreement included the localization and transfer of technology and knowledge of this type of aircraft, by the company “Sami Airbus”, which works under the umbrella of the Saudi Militarian Industrial Company “Sami”. “Sami”, which is entirely owned by the Public Investment Fund, plans to achieve $ 5 billion annual profits, and to contribute to the localization of more than 50% of the country’s military spending in 2030, at a time expected to rise by about 8.7% of last year during 2024. In the budget of this year, the Kingdom monitored 269 billion Riyals (about $ 71 billion) for this sector, accounting for about 21.5% of total public spending.
