We found Labor Day sales on our best-tested beauty products — score up to 70% off – ryan

The end of summer can be a bummer, but Labor Day sales certainly soften the sting a bit. As a middle-aged mom who spends her days and nights testing makeup, skin and hair care, I live for these end-of-season scores. It’s the perfect time to scoop up essential beauty and grooming products for fall and still stay within our monthly budget. Right now, I’ve got my eye on proven beauty devices, rich dry-skin lotions and anti-aging must-haves that will carry me from the sweaty slump of summer into the crisp promise of autumn. Whether it’s brightening post-sun skin or breathing new life into heat-stressed hair, these sales are my ticket to a fresh, radiant start to the season.

As you scroll through this year’s Labor Day beauty deals, you’ll find thousands of deeply discounted name-brand (and very much NOT name-brand) products. The sheer volume of deals during any sale can feel overwhelming, so here’s how I cut through the noise: I look for products with strong reviews, ideally ones I’ve tested and trust myself. When it comes to beauty, the only items that make it into my Labor Day cart are those with a proven record of delivering results.

These Labor Day beauty deals represent some of my all-time favorite products. They’re the kind of beauty-insider scores I recommend often and hope others love too.

The best Labor Day beauty deals

Even if you’ve never thought of yourself as a “lipstick person,” the ultra-popular, ’90s-chic (and Drew Barrymore fave) Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey will probably change your mind. The creamy, universally flattering formula is made from a blend of blue, red and yellow pigments, so it works for any skin tone. It’s also particularly good for drier, more mature lips since it glides on like a balm and has none of the waxy feel of some lipsticks, and it won’t settle into fine lines.

The shade looks dark in the tube, but once on, it works like a customized tint, lightly staining lips a natural-looking berry hue that’s just a hint or two above bare. As the name suggests, Almost Lipstick makes you look pulled together but not too “done.” Black Honey is a beloved everyday lip color and a near-perfect product, except for one thing: the price. This 50%-off Labor Day deal makes it an irresistible buy.

Last year I received a sample of the Jennifer Aniston-loved Tatcha Eye Brightening Stick and quickly became addicted to its hydrating, undereye transforming powers (not to mention the way it made concealers glide on without settling into fine lines). When I ran out, I was bereft — that product is $49 and I am cheap! I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement since.

And here it is. Grace & Stella’s version replicates all the wrinkle-smoothing, dark-circle brightening wonders of Tatcha’s and — with the addition of de-puffing caffeine — even improves upon the original. All this while ringing in on Labor Day sale at one fifth of the price.

After hearing whispers of Age Perfect’s powers for years, I finally tried it last month and am here to tell you, the fact that I’ve waited more than half a century to own this gorgeous moisturizer honestly seems like a bit of a crime.

What’s cool about this formula is it’s an anti-aging face cream with a twist: It’s meant to not only hydrate and tighten skin, but is also specially formulated with a light, rosy and universally flattering pigment to brighten up a dull complexion and give you a glow. If that’s not enough to convince you to “add to cart,” it’s recommended by aging beauties Dame Helen Mirren and Viola Davis, who are both spokespeople for the brand.

Dry, aging skin? If you’re looking for the ideal moisturizer to take you from summer into fall, I’ve found it. This non-greasy, ultra-hydrating gel-cream is packed with skin-quenching ingredients like hyaluronic acid to plump up your hot-weather-worn dermis and give your face a glow.

The hugely popular product — it’s racked up tens of thousands of 5-star reviews on Amazon — rarely goes on sale and right now it’s 44% off, the lowest price I’ve seen in months.

This is what you need if you’re like, “I think tightening creams are BS but I also want to believe they are true because I currently dislike my neck.” Gold Bond’s firming cream is no frills but gets the job done (the job being firmer-looking, less-crepey skin). The formula is lightweight and on the thin side, but the product absorbs well and is gentle enough not to irritate sensitive skin.

Note: You’ll need to use it consistently for about a month to see results, and it won’t, of course, magically make you appear 25, but being able to snag this ample size for 26% off makes this product worth a go.

More and more, I’m trying to replace my spendy beauty basics with more affordable finds. Case in point: This natural-looking brow tint from Maybelline rivals brands that cost three times as much and right now, it’s insanely cheap: just $9. It comes in six easy-match shades and has a soft, long-wearing finish — perfect for anyone with sparse brows who wants to fluff and fill things things out a bit.

If you’re feeling self-conscious about stubble (or just hate to wax and shave) this at-home laser-hair-removal device just might be for you and now’s the time to pick it up: For Labor Day, it’s marked down a whopping 70%: from $200 to just $60.

“This gadget brought my confidence back,” shared one five-star reviewer. “I’ve been using this product for five weeks now, and I cannot believe the amazing results. After having my five children, I experienced hair growth on my chin, and when I pluck them, they will leave dark spots and marks … I started using this product and within a month, the hair growth stopped. I wish I’d found this product years ago. It is easy to use and it is very convenient.”

Solawave remains one of the hottest names in modern-day skin-care tech. Its mega-popular LED wand utilizes a combination of light and heat therapy, along with the benefits of therapeutic massage, to help build collagen, even skin tone and reduce puffiness, dullness and dullness and blur fine lines and wrinkles on cheeks, foreheads and harder-to-treat areas like the under-eyes, jawline and neck.

This starter kit includes the wand along with two potent hyaluronic acid and peptide serums — right now, you can scoop up it all for a whopping 35% off.

This iconic bronzing powder, specifically designed for mature skin, contains color-correcting pigments to help even out your skin while leaving you looking natural, not like you’ve slathered on a ton of product. The formula self-adjusts to match your skin tone, so you don’t have to worry about it being too warm or too cool as long as you select your closest shade.

The product itself is actually, truly baked: The pigments are heated on terracotta tiles for 24 hours, giving them a unique consistency that offers the convenience of a powder with the coverage of a cream. They fill in pores and create a smooth finish but won’t settle into fine lines.

Our pick for best high SPF sunscreen, Neutrogena’s sheer, high-coverage chemical SPF is dermatologist-recommended, affordable, reliable and beloved by not only normies like us, but celebs like Nicole Kidman. She told Allure in 2019: “I’m shooting outdoors a lot, so the most important thing is the sunscreen — I use Neutrogena. … I reapply every 90 minutes, every single day.”

This nongreasy formula is ideal for anyone who detests the oily, sticky feel of many sunscreens. It also dries quickly, making it a good choice for layering under makeup.

Crest Whitestrips are among the top (if not the top) name in tooth whiteners — they’re not only well-reviewed, but have been recommended by every dentist I’ve ever interviewed.

The standard strips can be a bit harsh for those with sensitive teeth or gums, which is why this version is ideal. They rarely drop in price outside of sales events like Black Friday, so even a slight savings is worth it — and 27% off is certainly something to smile at. Pearly whites, here you come!

Lips thin as you age so I’m always on the hunt for ways to add the appearance of volume to mine without appearing like I have a clown mouth. That’s why this lip crayon from Maybelline is one of my favorite recent beauty discoveries: It allows me to slightly over-line my 52-year-old pout with a thick line and a creamy consistency that glides, stays on and feels pleasant on my mouth.

It comes in 27 flattering shades, leaves behind a pretty, velvety finish and has truly become one of my makeup bag must-haves.

Pro tip: The “Hustle in Heels” orange-y-red is subtly punchy, not too loud and among the best red lipsticks for mature lips I’ve tried.

After testing dozens of mascaras earlier this year, I named Maybelline’s Lash Sensational the best mascara of 2025, and it’s more than 20% off for Labor Day. The no-smudge, zero-flake formula lengthens and thickens lashes without being a hassle to apply (I did not have to remove globs from the applicator brush once in the last month — a first).

In addition to having this beauty editor’s vote, more than 80,000 five-star reviewers rave about it on Amazon, all stating something along the lines of, “10/10 would recommend, I’ve ordered this six times now … it’s the best mascara I’ve ever used.” Truly, it’s that good.

When 87-year-old beauty Jane Fonda recommends a product, I pay attention: The actress recently revealed she uses this serum every night on a clean face: “It has a lot of antioxidants and good things to hydrate the skin.”

The rich formula is paraben- and mineral oil-free, dermatologist-tested and suitable for all skin types. Plus, right now, it’s locked in at the lowest price I’ve ever seen.

If you’re new to the retinol game or have dry skin, CeraVe’s formula is an excellent place to start — in fact, it’s our best-tested retinol serum for beginners and users with dry skin. It contains just a .3% concentration, which means it will be gentler and less drying than higher-potency products.

It’s also filled with skin-calming agents like niacinamide and moisturizing hyaluronic acid to further hydrate and smooth wrinkles.

I’m a big fan of bar shampoos for thinning hair (I find they are often made with fewer detergents and therefore less harsh). I also love that they’re packaged in a way to create far less waste. When my top brand Superzero went out of business earlier this year, I turned to Kitsch and I haven’t looked back. It smells fresh and grown-up, lathers well and makes my hair soft but not weighed down. If you’re curious, now’s a good time to try it — it’s currently a sweet 30% off.

Your morning hair routine is about to get a lot easier, thanks to this multitasking tool. It dries and styles all at the same time, meaning you won’t have to juggle a brush in one hand and a blow dryer in the other; use it to give yourself a sleek, smooth blowout or wavy curls.

At just $40 (70% off), it’s far more affordable than the Dyson Airwrap, a product that we love with a sky-high pricetag that we don’t.

Behold, our best eye cream of the year! If you’re looking for a low-cost retinol treatment to help with dark circles and eye wrinkles, this is for you. RoC is the premier name in over-the-counter retinol, and its eye cream is highly rated, with nearly 40,000 five-star Amazon reviews. It’s excellent for improving the appearance of both fine lines and dark circles, and it’s dermatologist-recommended too.

I only wish the formula contained more antioxidant, nourishing ingredients. But for this price — especially when it’s $10 off — this cream honestly cannot be beat.

These No. 1 bestselling dual-textured facial toner pads — nearly 40% off right now — are among the top products we’ve found for clearing out clogged pores, evening skin tone and promoting a healthy, clean glow. Now they’re available in this mild version, which is no less potent, but gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Yahoo Shopping Deputy Editor Izabella Zaydenberg is a fan. “I’ve bought these four times — I think it’s the most I’ve ever repurchased any skin care product,” she says. “Unfortunately, I don’t think I can live without them: I ran out a few days ago and my blackheads (which these pads nearly entirely eradicated) decided to come back with a vengeance. It’s no wonder they’re an Amazon bestseller: Each pad gently exfoliates your skin with AHA lactic acid and BHA salicylic acid, leaving your skin truly glass-like.”

There are myriad uses for this wildly well-reviewed, internet-famous skin care oil, but I like it best for treating the body, not the face. It’s amazing on calves and thighs as an after-shave oil and as an emollient for cracked heels and dry elbows.

It’s too oily (for me) for my face or as a scalp treatment, but a little goes a long way to tame flyaways. Also, if it’s good enough for future queen Kate Middleton, surely it’s good enough for peasants like me.

After testing dozens of over-the-counter options, this is the retinoid I use every night. Differin’s adapalene gel was the first prescription-strength retinoid to become available over the counter. It’s dermatologist-recommended and clinically proven to tighten and brighten skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines. This jumbo size rarely goes on sale — and it’s currently a cool 36% off.

“I’ve been a Differin user for over six years at this point, and I swear by it,” wrote an in-the-know user. “Most things that work as well as Differin are prescription-only. It actually works in a similar manner that some of the prescription-strength treatments do: by increasing the rate at which your skin cells turn over.”

These TikTok-famous K-beauty toner pads have been on my radar for a while but I finally tested them this month and — wow — was I ever pleased with the results. They contain high concentrations of top skin care ingredients, including vitamin C, snail mucin, niacinamide and peptides and work to both brighten your complexion and calm any redness or irritation. I used them for a week and found they left my face feeling clean, with zero sticky residue and my skin looking more glowing overall.

This Labor Day sale price of $45 makes them just a little under $2 per use.
