Jakarta – Pansda Metro Jaya held a cheap food movement (GPM) with Bulog starting today. This activity is held every day until December 2025 with a target of 5 tonnes of rice per day. “Through the cheap food movement, national police are present to expand the range of rice distribution, suppress the price differences, maintain community purchasing power and give direct access to the community to rice at more affordable prices. Our target is to spread 5 tonnes of rice every day or about 5,000 kg with the target of 500 buyers,” Dirkrimsus metro Jaya Commissioner Ade Safi Simanjuntak said. Ade Safri said this program is part of the National Police efforts with the government to maintain the purchase power of the community through the distribution of SPHP pricing (offer and food stability) at an affordable price. This activity is a follow-up to the SPHP rice distribution performance that has just reached 5.87% from the August 2025 target. This price is cheaper than the highest retail price of the latest medium rice amounting to RP 13,500 per kg according to the decision of the national food agency. “That means people can save RP 2500 per kg. If you buy two packets of rice or 10 kg, residents can save up to 25 thousand,” Ade Safi added. Meanwhile, the head of the Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Combes Police Syam Indradi emphasized that this movement is a clear evidence of the national police concerns to support food price stability and inflation control, especially rice prices. “This cheap food movement program will occur largely in all ranks of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, from the police level, poles to Pulsek. National Police want to ensure that people can buy rice at a stable and affordable price while retaining the availability of food in the market,” the senior commissioner Ade Ary explained.
