A major fire department broke out early Sunday in the office building of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate Area, civil officials said. There were no reports about injuries. The fire department said it received a call about the flame in the MultiStorey Kaiser-I-Hind building, which houses the office of the Directorate (ED), near the Grand Hotel in Currimbhoy Road, around 02:31. Fire teams rushed to the place and started firefighting. Around 3:30, the fire was upgraded to Vlak-II, which is generally considered a large fire, the fire control room confirmed. According to a civilian official, the fire is limited to the fourth floor of the five -story building. The official said eight fire trucks, six Jumbo tankers, one airwater tower tender, one breathing device, one rescue van, one quick response vehicle and an ambulance from the 108 service to the place.
