An extraordinary incident occurred on Tuesday at the Gwalior Railway Station, which not only made an excellent example of humanity, but also set an example of the readiness and duty of the railroad police. A pregnant female passenger gave a child in a general coach, in which the understanding of railroad police and employees saved the life of the mother and child. The incident happened when Hazrat Nizamuddin reached from Gondwana Express (train number 22182) going from Nizamuddin to Jabalpur. A woman traveling in a general coach suddenly began to suffer intense delivery. Other passengers present in the coach made noise, after which immediate information was given to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government’s Railway Police (GRP) at the Gwalior station. The Railway Police women’s team responded quickly and decided to provide medical assistance to the woman under ‘Operation Matri Shakti’. The woman was carefully removed from the general coach and brought to the first aid center of the railroad. From there he was immediately admitted to the district hospital in Gwalior. Fortunately, this entire operation was completed in time and the woman was born a healthy newborn. According to doctors, the state of mother and child is stable. The woman and her family thank the Railway Administration. Railway officials said arrangements had already been made to handle the safety and emergency situations of women passengers as part of a special initiative called ‘Operation Matrikti’ at the station. According to this scheme, trained women’s staff, medical assistance and fast ambulance service are provided, which played an important role in this case. The superintendent of the Gwalior Railway Station said that this is not the first time such a sensitive incident has been confronted at the station, but the way in coordinated and quick actions praised this time. He also announced to honor the team of RPF, GRP and medical staff. This incident once again proved that railways are not only a way of traffic, but also a reliable hand of help in difficult times.
