Jakarta – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) appealed to the public not to do activities outside between 10.00 and 16.00 WIB. This is due to the hot weather that recently reached 37.6 degrees Celsius in several regions of Indonesia. BMKG said this warm weather was caused by a combination of the apparent movement of the sun and the influence of the Australian monsoon. This condition is expected to continue until the end of October or early November 2025. Therefore, the BMKG appealed to people to avoid direct exposure to the sun for too long, especially from 10.00 to 16.00 WIB. He said that the sun was at its strongest at that time. He also gave tips if people wanted to go outside. “If you want to do outdoor activities, you should wear an umbrella, hat, light clothes, and bring drinking water,” he said. Guswanto advised people who are in a vulnerable state not to travel. He advised the elderly, pregnant women and children not to go outside. “However, there are certain people who should not leave the room when it is hot, for example the elderly, pregnant people, children and people who cannot tolerate heat, there is concern that they will get tired or faint due to the intense heat,” he said. He said if people go to shopping centers or go out in cars, where there is air conditioning and protection from the hot sun, there is no problem. “However, unlike motorcycle taxi drivers, builders, farmers and the like, for those who work outside, it is best for those who bring heat protectors to bring water so that their bodies stay fresh and not get dehydrated,” he added. Guswanto said this appeal is meant for the whole community. Because this hot weather is spreading throughout Indonesia. “It is evenly distributed, generally throughout Indonesia, and specifically in the south of the equator, Java, Bali and Nusra,” he said.
