There is great potential to further promote relations between India and Germany: Ambassador Ackermann

New Delhi, October 17 (IANS) In terms of Germany-India relations, German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann said on Friday that the two countries are working together to further strengthen bilateral ties. Speaking to IANS on the sidelines of the NDTV World Summit, Ackermann said, “As far as relations between India and Germany are concerned, I would say that they are very well developed, but there is still a lot of potential and we are trying to strengthen it further with the government in Delhi and Berlin.” Ackermann also expressed Germany’s support for India’s goal of a developed India by 2047, calling it a “good vision” of the Indian government. He said: “It is an ambitious target and it is a target that I respect a lot and we, Germany, will try to help India in every possible way to achieve this target. It is a very good vision of the government and we are happy to support it wherever possible.” The Develop India 2047 initiative aims to make India a developed nation by the centenary of its independence in 2047. The German ambassador was speaking to IANS after attending the ongoing NDTV World Summit in New Delhi. Speaking to IANS, he said, “It was a very good and interesting summit. I am very happy to be here and I am very proud to be invited. We had a good session. I think this is one of the great events of the media world in Delhi, so I am very happy to be here.” Let us tell you, earlier in September, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and appreciated India’s call to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
