There was commotion in the Jaipur District Court after bomb threat mail was received, seen in the footage, and security forces reached the spot.

There was commotion in the district court complex of Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur on Wednesday amid fears of a major security lapse when a bomb threat mail was received in the court. It was clearly written in the post that bombs had been planted in the court premises and these bombs would start exploding at noon. As soon as the information was received, Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squared Team, ATS and Quick Response Team (QRT) were immediately deployed in the court premises. Authorities moved court staff, lawyers and the general public to safe locations. SHO and court officer ACP Sadar Dharamveer Singh said the post was checked after the court opened in the morning. “Once the threat mail was checked, we immediately started assessing the situation under tight security arrangements. Security forces and bomb disposal teams started a thorough search of the premises. There is no incident of any explosion so far,” the ACP said. Officials said that a technical team has been deployed to investigate the post. A team of cyber experts is also on site to find the source of the mail. According to preliminary information, the mail was sent by e-mail and contained an express threat that the bombs could explode at noon. After this threat, the security of the court premises was further tightened. CCTV footage and the number of security personnel deployed at the entrance have been increased. All persons entering the premises must undergo a screening process. However, there was no crowd or chaos in the court premises as the administration immediately sent the employees and lawyers to safe places. Senior court officials said that considering the seriousness of the case, security measures have been increased and any suspicious activities are being monitored. Security officials appealed to the public not to believe in rumors surrounding the court premises and to follow the instructions of the security personnel. Apart from this, cyber and technical teams are continuously working to trace the source of the mail. This incident is seen as a warning for security in the Jaipur District Court. The officers are committed to ensuring that any threat or exposure to the court premises will be taken seriously and that the culprits will be swiftly brought to justice. The court administration and police will share detailed information about further action only after the next investigation report and the source of the post are made public. Currently, security forces are maintaining vigilance in the court premises and all proceedings are proceeding normally. Share this story Tags
