There was panic on hearing 'There's a time bomb on the train...'; What did the Railways do based on the rumor of two brothers?
There was a stir in the Railways due to the fight over seats in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Two brothers riding in a train called the control room and gave fake news that a bomb had been planted in the train so they could put the man they were fighting with in trouble. After the bomb warning was received, panic spread in the railways. The whole train was quickly checked for about 45 minutes and everything seemed normal. Railway Police (GRP) arrested both the brothers and initiated legal action. Two brothers resident of Ghatampur, Kanpur were traveling in 15708 Amrapali Express (Amritsar-Katihar). He fought with some passengers over a seat in the compartment. A man named Deepak Chauhan, angry at this, called the railway helpline number 139 and informed about a bomb in the train. Chauhan said that three people dressed in black stood near the window of the compartment and placed a time bomb in the train, which could explode at any time. After checking three times, he turns off his phone. As soon as information about the incident was received, there was an uproar in the railways. GRP, RPF and ACP LIU conducted a thorough inspection of the train. The train was checked three times until 12 midnight. When nothing was found, the train departed and three passengers from Deoria and Siddharthnagar, who were arrested after a false complaint, were also released. Two accused were arrested, after which a search was launched for the person who spread the bomb threat. His mobile phone number was traced. After the train landed in Kanpur, the police traced its location through surveillance and arrested the two brothers from Faithfulganj area.
