Odisha: The leader of the Congress Panchanan Kanungo described 'Next Generation Gst' as Jumla
Bhubaneswar, September 21 (IANS). The leader of Congress and former Finance Minister Panchanan Kanungo strongly criticized the ‘next generation GST’ announced by Premier Narendra Modi. He described it as “a strategy to deceive people” and said that the Modi government could not simplify the tax structure. Panchanan Kanungo spoke to Ians, saying, “The promise of” one nation, one tax “is a myth. Even today, the ordinary man with a lot of taxes is taxed. GST has no benefit, reverse essential commodities, transport, indirect taxes on gasoline and diesel have increased. This has increased the cost of producers and consumers. “He described the GST system as a curse for small industries and said:” FMCG sector, small producers and MSMEs are most affected. Large companies such as Hindustan Unilever are occupied by the market, while small manufacturers cannot compete. The government claims to promote MSME, but the land is really hampering and increasing it. “Former finance minister also targeted transport and fuel taxes, saying:” Instead of relieving, the government is pushing producers and consumers. In the name of GST reform, only large businesses have benefited, local markets and small businesses are destroyed. “Canungo described ‘Next Jane GST’ as the new face of the current faulty system, saying that the spine of the economy is a conspiracy to deprive the MSME of real profits.
