Election of the Standing Committee of Municipal Corporation of Delhi preferred the Satya Sharma Chairman and Sundar Singh -Vise president

New -delhi, June 12 (IANS). The election of the Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) concluded on Thursday. Satya Sharma of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 11 votes and won as chair of the Standing Committee. His rival Praveen Kumar of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received seven votes. At the same time, Sundar Singh of BJP Aap Mohini Jeanwal defeated and captured the post of Vice President. Sundar Singh got 11 votes and Mohini Jeanwal received seven votes. All 18 members of the Standing Committee exercised their franchise. The election process was monitored by Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh as the presiding officer. The mayor, who congratulated newly elected President Satya Sharma and Vice President Sundar Singh, said: “With the establishment of the Standing Committee, we will all compile new dimensions of Delhi’s development. I hope the members of the committee will work for the development of the city.” After the election, Satya Sharma thanks all the members and supporters. He said: “Delhi development work has come to a standstill for the past two and a half years, but now we will work quickly in the positive direction. Our goal is to make Delhi clean, beautiful and prosperous. In this direction, we are appealing to all parties for collaboration. A two -minute silence was held during the meeting to pay tribute to the victims of the Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s victims on Thursday.
