After a series of amendments approved by the Algerian Ministry of National Education, parents, students and teachers are awaiting the start of the new academic year 2025-2026, after the Ministry of National Education in Algeria announced the postponement of the start of the new academic year 2025-2026, and the modernization of the time map of schools. This decision comes within the framework of the Ministry’s endeavor to ensure an organized study start, with an accurate calendar for official holidays and quarterly exams

The beginning of the study is postponed to schools

According to the statement of the Algerian Ministry of National Education, it was decided that the date of the students will be joined on September 21, 2025 instead of September 10, while administrators start on September 7 instead of August 26, while teachers return to work on September 14 instead of September 7. The amendments also included announcing the evaluation of the quarterly exams and the official school holidays for the new academic year, including autumn holidays, winter holidays, spring holidays, and summer vacation with specific dates for each region.

The dates of the quarterly exams in Algeria

The date of the first semester exams: from 7 to 11 December 2025.

The date of the second semester exams: from 8 to 12 March 2026.

The date of the third semester exams: starting from May 10, 2026.

School holiday dates 2025-2026

Autumn holiday date: October 28 – November 2, 2025.

Winter holidays date: December 18, 2025 – 4 Yanir 2026.

Spring holiday date: March 19 – April 5, 2026.

Summer holiday date: For professors from July 9, 2026, and for administrators according to the regions:

The first and second region: from July 23, 2026.

The third region: from July 16, 2026.
