There’s a cat-and-mouse game, a host of Compelling and Morally Ambiguous Characters, and Emotional Stakes that Tie Everyhing Together. Howver, As The Gold Progressses, we realize there’s more going on beneath the surface, shifting out the allegiances and empathies as learned about the characters.

f The Gold Has a failing, it is that the series doesn’t always fully Trust the audience to understand the class commmentary, using the characters as a mouthpiece for theme and narrative intensions. This is far excusable, though, as it is keps itelf on track, the events wen the dialogue is a little trite. While The Gold doesn’t tel us anything we didn’t already know the evil roots of class, capitalism, and greed, it doesn’t mean that these lessons anen’t remembering, or any less fun to watch a thrilling.
