Police said security forces killed at least three Maoists in an anti -Naxal operation in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday (April 12, 2025). A senior police officer said security forces acted on receiving information on the presence of Maoists in the Forest of Indravati area in the Bijapur district. The official said the District Reserve Watch (DRG), Bijapur, DRG Dantewada, the Special Task Force and the Commando Battalion for Resolutions or Cobra (a special unit in the Indian Central Reserve Police Force) had a joint team campaign and a meeting with Maoids. “The bodies of three uniform Maoists have been recovered so far in the meeting. A large amount of weapons and explosives have been recovered from the meeting area. The dead naxalites are identified,” the official said.
