The Take It Back Movement (TIB) condemned the brutal attack on the Mbar community in Bokkos, Plateau State, where many innocent Nigerians were killed and properties destroyed in what the group describes as “uncontrolled bloodshed.” In a statement issued on Thursday, the Plato coordinator of Tib, Comrade John Onah, the Plato State and the federal governments held responsible for their ‘continued failure to protect citizens’, as instructed by the Nigerian Constitution. According to the statement, Tib also announced a nationwide protest against the Cybercrime Act on April 7, making it a ‘draconian tool to crush division and free speech’. The statement partly states: “The Take It Back movement strongly condemns the barbaric attack on the Mbok community in Bokkos, Plateau state, where innocent Nigerians were slaughtered, and properties were destroyed in another act of uncontrolled bloodshed.” We have the Plato state and the federal government responsible for their continued failure to protect the people. “Our demand: The immediate deployment of security forces to prevent further bloodshed; full compensation for the victims and affected families and a transparent and uncompromising investigation to identify, prosecute and punish the perpetrators.” We declare that the era of silence is over! The people will no longer sit idle while turning communities into mass graves. The people of the Plato state deserve better. ‘Furthermore, we call on all Nigerians to stand up against the tyranny of the Cybercrime Act, a draconian instrument now armed to quiet the division and crush free speech. On April 7, the Take It Back movement will mobilize a nationwide protest to claim the immediate repeal of this oppressive law. the movement.
