Activists claim that the party has prioritized money and lobbying while ignoring merit and support base to give tickets. He says now tickets in RJD are not given to qualified workers, but to people with influence and money power. Discontent among the workers increased after RJD leader Achhe Lal Yadav’s ticket was cancelled. Yadav has been strengthening the organization in Chiraiya area for a long time. He has considerable influence at the local level. Activists say that the party has completely ignored their contribution. In a special meeting held late on Wednesday evening, Panchayat presidents and block officials unanimously decided to quit RJD. Those who resigned include Chiraiya Pakridayal and many Panchayat representatives from Madhuban block. These leaders said that they will now support an honest and mass-based candidate instead of any particular party. He warned at the time that if the party did not improve the decision, there would be mass resignations. Now this move has weakened the RJD’s electoral position in Chiraiya on Wednesday.
