Tikaram Julie’s claim, Central and Rajasthan government policies are anti-farmers.

Alwar, October 19 (IANS). Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Tikaram Julie, launched a scathing attack on the central and state governments regarding pollution. He accused the government of bringing anti-farmer policies. He said that there is no mercy or sense of mercy in the BJP government. Tikaram Julie also accused the Rajasthan government of being inactive on the issue of adulterated fertilizers. He said that the government has caught fake fertilizer factories but so far no owner has been arrested. Farmers get adulterated fertiliser. Tikaram Julie said while talking to IANS that there is talk of action against farmers for burning stubble. If a farmer burns his stubble and it needs to be stopped, the price of it should be paid to the government, but it will not be done. This government is working against the interests of farmers under pressure from the Centre. Tikaram Julie also raised questions about the priorities of the state government regarding Kisan Samman Nidhi and onion prices. He said that onions are grown in large quantities in Alwar and Khairthal, but farmers are not getting fair prices and are not even getting the rent. The Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly also made serious allegations about the Union Minister appointing his personal assistant in the dairy department. He said it had become clear that the elected chairman of the Congress had been illegally removed and resignations had been forcibly taken from the members. Julie said sarcastically, “Why develop only Alwar Dairy, the dairies of entire Rajasthan should be developed and his personal assistant should get the status of cabinet minister.” He also made serious allegations against the collector and said that the collector called the family members and stopped them from filling the form. Julie said, “The post of district collector should be sensitive, not sycophantic. The BJP government is only doing show politics and has no vision.” Tikaram Julie also put the BJP government in the dock over the lack of development of Alwar city. He said that despite being a BJP MLA for 20 years, there was no proper development of water, sanitation and other basic amenities in Alwar city. Julie claimed that the work in the city was done only on paper and the improvement of the ranking in cleanliness was done for the sake of the eye. –IANS ASH/VC Share this story Tags
