Jakarta – The big red and white flag is torn yesterday during the rehearsal or the 80th anniversary of the TNI’s anniversary at the National Monument Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta. TNI head of TNI, Maj. Gen. (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah gave an explanation about the incident. In a viral video, a large red and white flag is lifted on the Monas Monument. He suspected that the used material was not strong when he was exposed to strong winds. “Yesterday the wind was above 20 knots, it was pretty strong,” he said. Freddy said the incident let his party know what to improve before the 80th anniversary of the TNI held on October 5. He said the exercise was meant to find out the shortcomings before the commemoration of the TNI existence year. “So the substance we use is not good either. So there is a little mist. But thanks to the exercise, we know the ability and limitation of the ability and deficiencies of the materials,” he said. Based on the observation of AFP on the clean rehearsal of the TNI event at Monas today, TNI soldiers also lifted a large red and white flag above the Monas Monument.
