To stay fit and healthy even in winter, start the day with these drinks.

New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). It is very beneficial to start the day with the right drink to keep the body warm and safe from diseases in winter. According to Ayurveda, if we drink turmeric milk, ginger tea or basil decoction in the morning, it becomes not just a habit but a medicinal treatment. These drinks not only give energy to the body but also boost immunity. Turmeric milk, also known as golden milk, is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant drink. Curcumin found in turmeric reduces inflammation in the body and helps relieve joint pain, cold and sore throat in winter. Drink warm milk mixed with a pinch of turmeric in the morning, keep energy throughout the day and also improve digestion. Ginger tea is also considered very beneficial in winter. Gingerol present in ginger keeps the body warm from within and improves blood circulation. This tea provides relief from problems such as sore throat, cold and indigestion. In addition, it is also considered useful in reducing stress and problems such as migraines. Tulsi decoction, which finds a prominent place in the home remedies of grandmothers, is considered a disease killer in Ayurveda. Tulsi has antibacterial and anti-viral properties, which strengthen the respiratory system. While making a decoction, drinking ginger, black pepper, cinnamon and honey mixed with basil not only boosts immunity but also protects the body from infections. If Ashwagandha is also added to these drinks, both mental and physical strength increases. Ashwagandha is a natural tonic that reduces stress, improves sleep and maintains hormonal balance, providing more stamina to the body in cold. In winter, this small habit not only gives freshness and energy throughout the day, but also becomes a natural shield to fight seasonal diseases. By adopting these gifts of Ayurveda, we can enjoy good health even in modern life. –IANS PIS/VC Share this story Tags
