Today schools will be closed in many countries on September 17
Schools are closed in many countries today as people celebrate Vishwakarma Puja. It is a festival devoted to Lord Vishwakarma, who is considered a divine architect and craftsman. Tools, vehicles, machines and workplaces are worshiped on this day on the day of Kanya Sankranti, which makes it especially important for artisans, engineers, industrial workers and technical students. Although Vishwakarma Puja is not a national holiday, schools, colleges, factory and even industrial units are closed on this day in many states in the East, North and North East. In countries such as Bihar, the printing press has traditionally been closed due to worship of machines and tools. This year, Uttar Pradesh declared a public holiday on September 17, so that schools, banks and government offices across the state will remain closed. In Western Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Tripura, this festival is celebrated on a large scale, in which pandals, community worship and march are taken out, which closes schools throughout the day. Other states, including Telangana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra, have listed Vishwakarma Puja as an alternative holiday. In urban industrial centers such as Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Pune, especially in private schools related to communities, actively participating in this festival, schools are likely to be closed. This month, Onam, Eid-E-Milad and Regional Weather warnings have been fired by many schools, and another Tyohahari holiday is added to the Vishwakarma Puja calendar.
