Jaipur is also called Chhoti Kashi because of the excess of religious places and the tremendous faith and dedication of the people towards them. In its eastern part, Galata Kund is located on the hill. This place, known as ‘Galata Ji’, is a religious place. Actually, GATATA is named after ‘Galav Rishi’. He was a saint who fined here 1500 years ago. The water that comes out of the pool here is actually considered holy as the Ganges water in Haridwar. The oldest temples of the sun and Rama are in Gata. Even today, people come together to bathe at festivals. A stream of water is known to flow from Gomukh here. At the time of the establishment of Jaipur, this place was known as Galta Village.
