Total 102 dams in the district, five dams empty, 77 full, 6 overflowing

Even after the withdrawal of monsoon from the district, this year’s rains have brought life to the lakes and ponds. Of the 102 lakes in the district, 77 are completely filled, and six of them are overflowing, making them tourist destinations. This sight is nothing less than a celebration for the villagers and townspeople as people gather on the banks of the lakes and enjoy the water flowing like waterfalls. Spring in lakes, also a little dry Rajsamand Lake is currently filled to its full capacity, and its water flows into the Banas River, causing waves. Hundreds of people gather on the banks of the village of Vasol. Meanwhile, lakes like Nandasamand, Chikalwas, Kundli and Kunthawa Vaayar are overflowing. However, on the other hand, some of the lakes in the district are dry. Despite heavy rain, not a single drop of water has reached them, which is worrying for the irrigation department. Average rainfall and condition of the district: The average rainfall in the district has also increased this year. Last year the average was 801 mm, while this year it increased to 848 mm. This increase may not be much, but considering the condition of the water resources of the district, it is a matter of relief. New place for tourism and adventure: Lakes full of rain have now become tourist spots in every village. Families and youth flock to the shores of the lakes. The sound of flowing water and the sight of the waterfall became the center of attraction for the people. Share this story Tags
