Will the satellite -based toll system apply from 1 May across the country or not? The answer of the central government came in this regard. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (Morty) on Friday rejected reports that the Fastag system would now be replaced by satellite -based toll system by May 1, 2025. The ministry made it clear that no decision was made on the implementation of the satellite -based toll system in the country from 1 May. The ministry set out the speculation of the implementation of the satellite -based toll system and said that no such decision was made and that people should not be fooled by such demands. The central government said the automatic license plate identification (ANPR) fastag -based obstacle -free toll system will be introduced in certain places to increase uninterrupted vehicles movement and reduce the congestion on toll plazas. The government warns the new system, now the vehicles will automatically be charged on the basis of identity by ANPR cameras and Fastag readers, which will eliminate the need to stop at the Toll Plaza. The ministry said that there could be action against those who violated. The statement also warned that e-neotist would be issued if the rules were not followed and that the non-payment of the vehicle could also be suspended with other fine. The ministry applied to a selected toll plaza reiterated that the satellite -based toll system is currently only introduced to selected toll plazas. It is not implemented across the country. Let us tell you that Fastag (electronic toll collection) in the country started in 2016, enabling people to get out of the toll plaza without stopping.
