Trump reciprocal rates: Shares of Indian pharmaceutical firms with significant interests in the US market, including Grand Pharma Ltd, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd and Sun Pharma Ltd, experienced a 3% -13% increase during the traditional trade in the US president of the pharmaceutical industry. Among other things, Trump revealed reciprocal rates that affected more than 60 countries, including India, the European Union, China and Vietnam. According to a fact -released fact sheet, drugs and various other products, including those already affected by other rates, are excluded from the new levies. However, it is important to emphasize that specific tariff announcements per sector were not included in the White House agenda for the announcements made on April 2. In the past, the president has indicated that tariffs on pharmaceutical products, semiconductors and other industries would be revealed at a later date, although he has already applied a 25% tariff to motor and additional auto parts imports in the US. Prashanth Taps, research analyst, senior vice president of research at MICTA shares, explained that the pharmaceutical sector is excluded from individual reciprocal duties, but that it may become part of future duties. These rules bring some sentimental relief into the sector, and today we can see a reasonable amount of positivity in the sector performance. India from now on charge a tariff of about 10% on pharmaceutical imports from the US, while the US does not impose any tariff on the import of Indian pharmaceutical items. Taps added that pharmaceutical stocks such as Gland Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma., Dr. Reddy’s Lab, Sun Pharma is in focus.
