Review Meeting of Food Storage Scheme held chaired by AMIT Shah
New -delhi, June 2 (IANS). A review meeting of the world’s largest food storage scheme was held in the cooperative sector at the Ministry of Cooperation in New -Delhi on Monday under the chairmanship of Union Minister AMIT Shah. In addition to the Minister of Cooperation, Krishnapal Gurjar and Muralidhar Mohol, the meeting was attended by cooperatives of Co -operatives, Ministry of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumers, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Nabard, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and other organizations. Amit Shah, who addressed the meeting, said that Prime Minister Narendra’s biggest food storage scheme is a big step in realizing the vision of Sahakar of Sahakar. He said there are two most important criteria to measure economic progress in the country, gross domestic product (GDP) and employment generation. The food storage scheme is a medium to empower both of these aspects, which aim to increase the income of primary agricultural loan committees (PACs), as well as to create rural jobs. Shah emphasizes the need for rapid action to improve the financial condition of PACs in detail of the loan period under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). The Union Cooperative Minister emphasized the widespread participation of PACs in the food storage scheme, saying that it is necessary for PACs to be made an integral part of the scheme to ensure their financial viability and social effectiveness. He gave concrete guidelines to FCI, NCCF, NAFED and state -scale corporations to connect PACs with more and more warehouses. It was also decided at the meeting that states should include more and more PACs at their level in this scheme, and that marketing federations at the state level should also be linked to it, so that a complete cooperative supply chain can be developed.
