Rajasthan: Sculptors of Bengal to make idols of maa durga, each year more than one crore

Sikar, September 20 (IANS). Preparations celebrate Navratri across the country. On this sacred occasion there is a competition to buy idols from Maa Durga in Sikar of Rajasthan. Special sculptors are mentioned every year of Bengal to make clay statues in the city. These sculptors came four five months ago. The sculptor Rajupal said the sculptures are eco -friendly. The sculptor said that the environment should not be polluted. The special thing is that artisans also bring the ground of Bengal to build the idols. According to sculptors, the finish in the statue comes only from the ground of Bengal. It takes a few months to make the ground images of the goddess Durga out of the ground of Bengal. For this, a structure with wood is erected first. Then the structures are fitted with grasses, rope and local soil. Later, the final round of the special ground of Bengal is obtained. The ground of Bengal is smooth and sticky. Even after it dried on the statue, it doesn’t get cracks. After drying the soil, the cloth is offered on it and then painted with water color. In the past 8 days, artisans decorate idols with jewelery day and night. Statues are made in many places in the city. The price of these idols ranges from 3 thousand to 31 thousand. In Sikar, orders worth millions also come from Nagaur, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Fatehpur and adjacent districts. In such a situation, more than one crore idols are traded in Sikar each year. The sculptor Rajupal, who makes the idol in Ashok Vihar, says he will make and sell idols from 1.5 million to Navratri. The sculptor Rajupal told Ians in Khas that there is a target this time to make more than 100 idols. For this, 11 come sculptors of Bengal. The sculptor Rajupal said that if a mother makes an idol of Mata Rani, some make the courts of the goddess. Orders of idols of many different forms begin a year in advance. Bengali sculptors in Sikar come from Bengal to make Durga statues for the past 25 years. The particular thing is that these sculptors only make eco-friendly soil and grass sculptures that dissolve in water after immersion in water and do not harm the environment. -Ians Ash/DSC shares this story Tags
