Two-hour bandh of Nathdwara traders, demand for improvement in rent policy of temple board

Nathdwara traders affiliated to Srinath Vyapar Sangh kept their shops and stalls closed for two hours on Wednesday. He appealed to the government and the temple board administration to change their tenancy policy. Traders carrying banners and placards took out a procession in the streets of the city and loudly presented their pending demands. This demonstration continued from 13:00 to 15:00. Led by Srinath Vyapar Sangh President Mangilal Rathi, Secretary Tilakeshwar Soni, Patron Muralidhar Bhatia, Navneet Soni, Arjun Lavati and Ganesh Paliwal, the traders marched together through the busy markets of the city including Chowpatty, Delhi Bazaar, Bada Bazaar and Mand Naya Bazaar, Mand Naya Bazaar. The merchants handed over the memorandum to the temple council. Shrinathji continued in the procession to the temple council office complex, where he handed over a memorandum of several points to Acting Chief Executive Raksha Parikh. In the memorandum, the traders said that the lack of transparency in the tariff policy of the Temple Board and the rules that increase the financial burden have become unbearable for the traders. The main issues are as follows: It is wrong to increase the rate by 15 percent every three years, when the rate used to be only 5 percent. On transfer of shop, gender change or inheritance, gifts and rents are increased by 35 to 50 percent. Delay in getting building permits and high maintenance costs put additional burden on traders. The shopkeepers who were sold cannot find another location, thereby affecting the business. Road, parking and security problems around the Nathdwara market create problems for both devotees and businesses. The trade association explained that rents should be assessed according to actual market conditions, and on the death of any tenant there should be immediate transfer to inheritance.
