Ujjain: Grand decoration of Baba Mahakal on Dhanteras, temple echoes with chants of 'Jai Shri Mahakal'
Ujjain, October 18 (IANS). On Saturday, on the holy occasion of Krishna Paksha Trayodashi of Kartik month i.e. Dhanteras, there was a huge crowd of devotees at the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. Baba Mahakal opened the doors of the temple at 4 in the morning to give darshan to his devotees. During this, the temple complex resounded with the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Mahakal’. At the time of Bhasma Aarti, the priests anointed Lord Mahakal with Panchamrit made of milk, curd, ghee, sugar and fruit juice. After this, Baba is lavishly decorated. The special thing in today’s makeup was that the Lord was decorated with hemp. Moon and Belpatra were placed on his head. Moreover, she got a more attractive look by wearing a new crown, Rudraksha and Mund rosary. Ashes were offered on behalf of Mahanirvani Akhara on Shivlinga. After Bhasma Aarti God appeared before the devotees in formless form. Thousands of devotees reached the temple to witness this supernatural scene. Devotees worshiped Baba Mahakal with devotion and the temple complex was filled with devotional atmosphere. The darshan of Baba Mahakal on the day of Dhanteras is considered special. Seeing and worshiping Baba on this day is believed to bring happiness and prosperity. Long queues of devotees remained in the temple since morning. The temple administration made special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees, so that darshan and worship could be done easily. This auspicious occasion was a moment of pride for Ujjain as devotees from all over the country and abroad came to have the darshan of Baba Mahakal.
