New -delhi, October 12 (IANS). Bhupendra Yadav, Minister of Forest, environment and climate change, reached Brazil on Sunday. In Brazil, he will represent India at the United Nations Climate Change Conference. With information about his Brazil visit on the social media platform, he explained that this forum will provide an opportunity for countries over the next two days to build consensus on issues that are critical to COP30’s success. Looking forward to further fertile discussions. According to media reports, at COP30, he is likely to emphasize the need for adaptation strategies and the functioning of the global carbon market, in addition to the global South’s demand for more predictable climate financing. Let us tell you, India has repeatedly said that the financial aid of $ 300 billion is insufficient annually to the global south (developing countries) until 2035 and emphasizes that developed countries have a moral responsibility to support developing countries in implementing their climate action promises. In such a situation, the Union Minister will also discuss this issue in COP 30. Earlier as part of the Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations, he launched five projects at national level for species conservation and conflict management on Monday 6 October. These five projects include Project Dolphin, Project Sloth Bear, Project Gharial and implementation of the Tigers Action Plan outside the Tiger Reserves. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav also launched the project for the establishment of a Center of Excellence (COE-HWC) for conflict management of people in the Salim Ali Center for Ornithology and Natural History, which aims to provide support in policy, research and field-based mitigation of human wildlife. The Union Minister has requested all stakeholders to strengthen conservation partnerships, saying: “Wildlife conservation is not only a duty, but a shared responsibility to ensure harmony between nature and humans.” -—IANS KK/As Share This Story Tags
