Union Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Germany, aims to promote bilateral trade and investment
New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is visiting Germany from October 23, where he will interact with CEOs and industry leaders to boost bilateral trade and investment. This information was given in an official statement on Wednesday. According to a ministry statement, the Berlin visit is an important milestone in advancing India’s engagement with Germany and holds special significance as the year 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, highlighting the depth, resilience and long-term strength of the bilateral relationship. The official statement said that Goyal’s meetings were held to facilitate high-impact interactions with senior government officials, industry leaders and business associations of both the countries. During the meeting, the focus will be on further strengthening the dynamic India-Germany economic partnership and exploring new avenues to enhance trade and investment cooperation. Goyal will also hold a high-level meeting with Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, to discuss strengthening bilateral trade relations, Luxembourg’s upcoming state visit to India, current regional developments and important international issues. During his Berlin visit, Goyal will also participate as a speaker at the 3rd Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD) – an annual summit that brings together leaders from business, government and academia to deliberate on issues shaping the global economy. This session will explore how nations and businesses are moving forward in an evolving global trade landscape, identifying practical pathways to increase market access and build a new trade ecosystem that drives sustainable global growth. A key component of the visit will include several face-to-face meetings with CEOs of leading German companies such as Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE and Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The Minister will also chair a round table meeting with CEOs and leaders of German Mittelstand companies and representatives of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific German Business Association (APA). –IANS MS/DKP
