59th Natula Victory Day celebrated in Sikkim, Governor participated in Mathur

Gangstok, September 11 (IANS). The 59th Natula Victory Day was celebrated in Sikkim on Thursday, which is dedicated to the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Army led by the late Major General Sagat Singh during the Indo-China War in 1967. Governor to Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, as well as senior military officers, dignitaries, present at the event held at Natula. The program started tribute to the Sherthang War Memorial, where the governor paid tribute flowers in memory of the tortured soldiers and set fire to the immortal light. He later unveiled the statue of Lieutenant General Sagat Singh, who won the Indian army in 1967 in the collisions in Nathula and Chola. The Governor and the Chief Minister paid tribute to the torture soldiers and appreciate the role of Major -General Sagat Singh, whose order successfully put the Chinese invasion. In his speech, Governor for Prakash Mathur described the event as a golden chapter in the military history of India and described the courage of Sagat Singh as a source of inspiration. Sagat Singh’s family, senior military officer and dignitaries of Rajasthan were present during the ceremony. His family members were also honored by the Indian army. As part of the festival, the 17th mountain department of the Indian army in gangtok arranged a symbolic bicycle rally of 60 motorcyclists, including women.
