UP: 34 cases including robbery and murder, encounter of notorious criminal Nafees in Shamli, reward of Rs 1 lakh
An encounter took place in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning between the police and the criminal Nafees alias Mudha with a bounty of ₹ 100,000. The encounter took place in the forests near Bhabhisa outpost in Kandhla police station area, where the police surrounded Nafees during a check operation. According to the police, when Nafees was surrounded, he opened fire on the team. In response, the police also retaliated, in which Nafees was injured. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. During the encounter, Kandhla Station House Officer Satish Kumar’s bulletproof vest was also hit by a bullet, but he was not injured. The police recovered a pistol, a revolver and several live cartridges from the spot, while one of Nafees’ associates fled and left his bike. Nafees alias Mudha was a resident of Mohalla Khel of Kandhla city. The criminal with a reward of Rs 1 lakh was killed in an encounter. He has more than 34 criminal cases registered against him, which include serious crimes like murder, robbery, burglary, extortion and counterfeiting money. He was wanted in several states, including Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, and a reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared on his arrest. Police officers say Nafees intended to commit a major crime with his gang. Acting on the information, the police surrounded the area and an encounter took place. Four meetings in 20 days. Police campaign against criminals continues in Saharanpur division. This is the fourth encounter in the last 20 days in which a criminal has been killed with a reward of Rs 1 lakh. Earlier, Naeem Qureshi and Mehtab were killed in a police encounter in Muzaffarnagar, while a criminal named Imran was killed in Saharanpur. Now police killed Nafees alias Muda in Shamli.
