Last year, a fine of Rs 25 thousand was collected from 11 farmers for stubble burning in the district. The agriculture department says farmers can use the stubble as fertilizer in the fields. The team will monitor incidents of crop residue burning every day from the time of rice harvesting to Rabi sowing. Similarly, the concerned SDM, CO and concerned ADO Agriculture are included in the team formed at the tehsil level. Deputy Director Agriculture said that a fine of Rs 2500 will be levied for burning two hectares of crop residue, Rs 5000 for burning two to five hectares and Rs 15,000 for burning more than five hectares of stubble. Last year there were 11 incidents of stubble burning in the district. As a result, a fine of Rs 25 thousand was collected from the farmers. Farmers must use harvesters with straw management system, otherwise they will suffer. Instead of burning the stubble, farmers should manage the stubble during harvest using the Super Straw Management System (SMS) with the harvester. Other implements that can be used as an alternative to SMS are Straw Reaper, Straw Reaper and Baler, Mulcher, Paddy Straw Reaper, Shrub Master, Rotary Slasher, Reverse Bull MB Plow. With this, crop residues can be bundled in the field and used for other uses. The operators must get the harvest done only after arrangements are made via SMS. Otherwise the harvester will seize. Instead of burning stubble, farmers can make and use organic fertilizers. Village heads and regional accountants must motivate farmers not to burn stubble and agricultural waste.
