In such a situation, Gorakhpur may soon appear as a pivot of Athanal production in eastern Uttar Pradesh due to the production of ethanol in three places in the same district. The intention of the chief minister is to develop Gorakhpur as the new center of green energy. In this order, with the investment incentive policy of the Yogi government, the largest Athanal plant in the private sector in Gorakhpur in Sector 26 of Gida was completed. This Rs 1200 crore investment project is from Messrs. Kayan Distillery Private Limited. The groundstone of his plant was laid by the Chief Minister on August 12, 2023 and now he will be inaugurated on April 6. Kayan Distillery managing director Vinay Singh says the production of grains (rice and maize) started in his distillery. In the first phase, the 3 Lakh liter production capacity plant was active. For this, the government also made a provision of Rs 90 crore in the budget of the financial year 2025-26 to draw up the plant. The production capacity of this distillery is 60 thousand liters per day. Here, a plant that makes ethanol directly with sugar cane juice can be drawn up. With the production of ethanol in this sugar factory, the sugarcane price will be paid quickly to the farmers. At the same time, Ethanal will be produced in Dhuriyapar of the district in the coming days. On the government’s initiative here, the project of Indian Oil’s bio -fuel complex becomes tangible. In the first phase of this project, the Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant was launched at a cost of Rs 165 crore. Ethanal is produced in the second phase of the Bio Fuel Complex project.
