A contract worker in the electricity department of Uttar Pradesh was rejected from the Saharanpur service for allegedly waving a Palestinian flag on Eid, Pti quoted on Sunday. Referring to the reason for the dismissal of SAQIB, said Sanjeev Kumar, executive engineer of the electricity department, said the department considers its actions as ‘anti-national’ and took action immediately. “Saqib Khan, a contract worker in the Kailashpur Power House, blew a flag of Palestine after offering ‘Namaiz’ on Eid and posting a photo on social media,” Kumar said. “When the case came under the notice of the department, it was considered an anti-national activity and acted immediately. A letter was written to the relevant contract enterprise and it was instructed to remove Khan from the service,” he added. The department instructed the contract business to end Khan’s service immediately and confirm the action.
