Uttar Pradesh: Leopard hunting 12 -year -old girl in Lakhimpur Kheri, fourth incident in two weeks

Lakhimpur Kheri, October 9 (IANS). There is now a scare for eating leopard in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. Here on Thursday, the leopard made a 12 -year -old girl his victim. After the incident, forest division officials said a 12-year-old girl died in a leopard attack in Lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday night. This is the fourth incident within ten days in the district. The incident happened near Ran Nagar Village under North Nighasan Forest area when Preet Kaur, daughter of local resident Ranjit Singh, went home with her aunt of the doctor. According to officials, a leopard that hid in a nearby sugarcane field suddenly attacked the girl and dragged her inside the field. When the aunt raised an alarm, the villagers reached the place after hearing the screams for help, through which the animal ran away. But then the girl died. Bhupendra Singh series officer confirmed death and said the teams of the forest division reached the area. He said: “We received information about the incident. Our team reaches the place and judges the situation.” Naveen Khandelwal, DFO (Buffer Zone)), said: “We received information about a leopard attack in which a 12-year-old girl was seriously injured. A forest department is present on the spot and traps and cameras are installed to catch the leopard.” DFO (South Kheri) Sanjay Viswal said that the activity of leopards has increased in this area over the past few weeks. The number of leopards has increased in the Sardanagar series. The sugarcane crop is good in this season, which gives the animals the chance to hide easily.
