The chief minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has the orders issued by the Panchayat Raj authorities district to install number plates on homes in Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi districts. He also ordered to conduct a thorough investigation into the case and ensure strict action against the culprits. In fact, a letter related to the District Panchayat Raj officers of Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi handed over the work on installing number plates on homes in rural areas to an outsider for promoting programs such as Swachh Bharat mission on social media. These letters mentioned that the work to install number plates was given to an outsider, after which resentment was seen among the locals. This relief raised questions about the government’s transparency and policy to give priority to local employment. Chief Minister Dhami immediately noted this matter and gave clear instructions to the officials that all government schemes and programs should be implemented in accordance with the principles of public interest, transparency and fairness. He said the government’s determination is to give the interests of the local population in each scheme. For this, he repeated the order already issued, stating that the locals give the best priority to the government’s acquisition to Rs 10 crore. Chief Minister Dhami said that this order should be followed strictly at every level. In addition, CM Dhami also ordered officials that such irregularities should not take place in the future and that special attention should be paid to the promotion of local employment in all works.
