The aim of this initiative is to ensure that students receive textbooks on time at the beginning of the academic session, so that no student faces a shortage of books. State Bureau, Dehradun. He said that textbooks, exercise books, uniforms, school bags and other reading materials are distributed free of cost to the students studying in government schools in the state. According to this, funds for uniforms and school bags are sent directly to the accounts of students through DBT. The department delivers textbooks and exercise books directly to schools. He said that during the field visit, parents complained about textbooks not reaching many schools in remote areas. In view of this, he instructed the Director General of Education to ask for reports from all the districts and provide the reports within a week. The tender process for the purchase of textbooks for the upcoming academic session will be started from now. This will be completed in a month, so that textbooks can be made available in schools as soon as the session begins. He directed the officials to speedily complete the process of selection of students from across the state under the educational tour scheme and send them on tour. Along with this, he also asked the officials for the progress report on the reconstruction of schools damaged by the disaster. Disaster response fund was not utilized. He expressed his displeasure that the government has provided funds to all the districts under the Disaster Response Fund, but the construction work has not yet started. In this regard, he directed the Director General of Education to review the construction work in all the districts online and speed up the work. In the meeting, instructions were also given to start the recruitment process for class IV posts to be filled under outsourcing. The recruitment process for primary teachers will start soon. Dr. Departmental Minister Rawat in the review meeting directed the officials to start the recruitment process for the vacant posts of primary teachers soon. He said that currently around 2,100 posts of primary teachers are vacant across the state. Of these, the Supreme Court prohibited filling 451 posts. To fill the remaining vacant posts, departmental officers have been directed to issue a notification soon. It was also asked to start the process of adjustment of teachers who have been serving in inaccessible districts for a long time on the vacant posts of accessible districts. Under the new recruitment process, primary teachers who are selected can only be given first post in remote areas.
