Mumbai, April 2 (PTI) comedian Kunal Kamra on Wednesday apologized for the police notices issued to them for attending his controversial performance that led to a massive political riot. A banker who attended Kamra’s performance in Mumbai was summoned as a witness after a case against the cartoon was registered over his alleged Jibes against the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, police said. The cartoon faces several Fir’s for his alleged ‘traitor’ remarks against Shinde during his latest stand-up show “Naya Bharat”. “I am very sorry for the inconvenience my show attended,” Kamra wrote on X and shared a news release stating that a Navi Mumbai banker who attended the show had to reduce a short trip after police notified him. “Send me” NE -mail to me so I can schedule your next holiday where you want in India, “he said in the post. Police on Tuesday denied reports that members of the audience who attended the show were called to record their statements. The 36-year-old man, known for his views against establishment, refused to apologize for his more than 45 minutes of video that received more than 12 million views on YouTube. Mumbai police issued a third summons to the comedian who asked him to appear in the case on April 5. The summons was issued on Tuesday and Kamra was asked to appear at the Khar police station where a first information report (FIR) was registered against him last month. He was called twice by police earlier, but could not join the investigation. Kamra, born and raised in Mumbai, currently lives in Tamil Nadu.
